I used to whine a lot when Mr Lucas Leong is relentless in challenging and pushing my limits. After seeing a huge improvement in my results, I am grateful that he did that. Even my parents never expected me to score that much in this subject.

I was sceptical at first whether Mr Leong was capable of teaching me as he liked to crack a lot of “lame” jokes. Little did I know, that was his unique way of communicating with us and helping us understand the subject better. I was fully convinced when I clinched the top cohort award for Mathematics in 2023.

Before Mr Lucas Leong taught me, I had been failing or barely passing math. Things was even harder when COVID struck and there were many lesson cancellations. Thankfully, after being his student since 2020, I consistently clinched top few positions in my class and math became my favourite subject.

Mr Leong started teaching me E & A math since sec 3. Because of his passion in explaining the topics, I am able to grasp the concepts and handle any question that comes along. My parents and school teachers were shocked as I never scored below 90% for any test and exams after being Mr Leong’s student.

As many people know, ACSI has cohorts with very high standards. I was struggling to barely cope with my schoolwork. After taking Mr Leong’s math lessons in 2021, I applied a lot of the study techniques into other subjects and subsequently improved my overall score as well. I hit my L1R5 target and got into the JC of my choice!

Even though my school has bombarded me with homework, my mathematics was a stagnant C grade for a very long time. Mr Leong helped me to see that math is not just about homework. I do not look forward to school but I always look forward to his lessons. I scored very well for my PSLE and O levels because of him.

As the president of student council, the whole school knows I hate Mathematics to the core. Mr Leong understood this and used a very light hearted method to slowly ease away my negative feelings for this subject. After just a few months, I began to improve and excel in the subject. Thank you Mr Leong!

Even though I did not get an A1 for my O levels, I’m still very satisfied with a B3, which is a far cry from my usual E8 or F9. I’ve had a couple of tutors over my course of primary and secondary school life but none had impacted my mathematics as much as Mr Leong did.

I constantly struggle to keep up with the pace of my school’s teacher. Thankfully, Mr Leong is patient and customises his lessons according to my needs. Very grateful to him as I got into the course of my choice. I also love his occasional sharing of life’s wisdom.

When I was in lower secondary, I thought that my math was good. That was mainly because of my good memory. However, things took a quick turn in sec 3. Thankfully, I started lessons with Mr Leong and he identified all the minor and major issues I had that caused my massive drop in results.

Because of the heavy focus on my CCA, my results plummeted in sec 3. After taking lessons with Mr Leong, I managed to quickly pick up the pace and catch up on my E & A maths. These 2 subjects helped my aggregate by a bunch! Definitely would recommend anyone who needs help in math to Mr Leong!

Throughout my secondary school life, most teachers do not believe that I would do well. Hate to admit it but that is also because I am a lazy and playful boy. However, Mr Leong saw my potential and never stopped believing in me. If not for him, I would most likely fail my O levels.
