I am very grateful to Mr Chia for being a part of my A level journey and ultimately helping me to clinch an A for my H2 Math A levels (from a S in MCTs)! His concise notes and methodical approach to math was very effective in allowing me remember the formulas and the ways to tackle different types of problem. Especially for more conceptually tricky topics from Statistics, he was able to elaborate the concepts well through the use of analogies. Furthermore, he has an abundance of learning materials and resources such as collated past years A level questions and was very willing to give us extra practice qns if we requested for them! Mr Chia was also effective in managing the pace of the lessons such that we could try out and expose ourselves to the many different question types. He was very committed in ensuring that we understood the concepts after lesson, and would stay behind to clarify our queries from the lesson or even those from our school tutorials!

Mr Chia is an excellent teacher that is very patient and caring. He is able to break down complex problems and experienced in spotting commonly asked exam questions. He is also very dedicated and answers questions at almost every hour of the day. His encouraging attitude inspired me to keep working hard and improving my math grades from a C to an A in A levels!

The practices Mr Chia gives during lessons as well as his clear explanations when going through the question helped me gain a better understanding of the subject. he will always make himself available to help me clarify any doubts at any point of the lesson. Mr chia has been played a very integral role in my a’level journey ever since the start of my JC life. his patience and thorough methods helped me to adapt to the challenging topics that i would not have been able to handle alone. above simply academics, mr chia was a great life mentor to all of us, constantly encouraging us and going the extra mile to help us should we be struggling in any way. he made me look forward to his lessons weekly and helped me to see the joy in learning math. i’ll always be grateful to have stumbled upon mr chia as my jc math tutor 🙂

I was struggling with my school’s fast-paced lessons and couldn’t seem to get the basics down. Despite doing a lot of practice, it felt like I was falling behind and a lot of concepts still remained confusing to me. Thanks to Mr Chia’s teaching, he simplified concepts such that I understood them and gave a lot of practice questions that were for my skill level, and gave harder questions when I started getting the hang of it. Learning Mathematics started becoming a joy rather than a chore to do and I really appreciate Mr Chia for his patience 😀

I joined Mr Chia’s classes in february 2023, and despite scoring straight Us for H2 math, Mr Chia was patient, encouraging and answered all my questions throughly. He would also go out of his way to schedule long consultation sessions for me weeks before A levels. The math notes and practice questions provided by higher nucleus are also very concise and helpful. Thanks to Mr Chia, I managed to jump 4 grades in math within a span of 8 months 🙂 Mr chia definitely played a big role in my improvement for math and supported my friends and I through our A level journey.

Mr Chia helped me understand the many complicated concepts in H2 Math with clear explanations and some funny math memes. He leads us through the difficult math problems, showing us methods and tricks to solve them. He is a very caring teacher who is also very responsive to our questions outside of lesson timings!

Mr Chia is a very dedicated tutor who goes the extra mile to make sure we understand the concepts and was willing to answer questions that we have online even when its quite late. He would even include games during lessons to ensure that we are able to better grasp certain concepts in Math.

I have been joining Mr Chia’s classes for two years (2021-2022) and here is what I have to say. Mr Chia’s notes are meticulously designed that allowed me to understand the basics of rather complicated and massive topics that have limitless application questions. Understanding and internalising the fundamentals of Mathematics is extremely important as it firms up one’s recognition of the topic tested behind each question, boosts confidence in one’s approach of the question and reduces the tendencies of carelessness and presentation errors. In this case, Mr Chia’s notes are perfect! Furthermore, Mr Chia’s worksheets have a myriad of questions which has different difficulty levels and prepares students not only for A levels but also the more unseen and ingenious questions found in internal exams. In lessons, Mr Chia also has the gifted ability to teach and explain complex formulas in such a way that it remains etched in my mind, through the use of funny mnemonics and tips, tricks and strategies that make H2 Mathematics seem less daunting and more doable.

What separates Mr Chia from other tuition teachers I have been to is the special attention he gives to each and every student during trial exercises, to cater to students that have different paces of learning and different strengths and weaknesses. He would walk around to ensure that we are all on the same page, attempting the questions without careless mistakes and even motivate us when we struggle during the questions. Furthermore, Mr Chia’ classes made me fall in love with Mathematics especially through the occasional hilarious jokes (that again did make me remember the intricate details about Mathematics) and the background knowledge and history about how Mathematics apply to our daily lives. Furthermore, he ensures that we do not burn out close to exam days by revising and revisiting extremely crucial key concepts and misconceptions through fun, creative and never-seen-before games that puts a test to our brains but also ingrain into our minds about basics that we might have forgotten.

Additionally, in order to excel in Mathematics consistent practice and clarifying is required and Mr Chia never disappoints. He has an arsenal of worksheets that are not only categorised by topics but also specific questions that are frequently tested. Furthermore, Mr Chia dedication to answer questions during his breaks and even between classes for those who have questions and queries from their own schools really reflects the amount of care he has for his students. I was personally struggling with U grades even after my prelims and Mr Chia’s willingness to assist and guide me instilled the confidence in myself and I improved to a B. Moreover, Mr Chia looks out for each and every one of his students not only academically but also emotionally as he wholeheartedly understands the rigour and stress in JC.

All in all, Mr Chia’s warm, friendly and jovial persona never failed to put a smile on my face during lessons and helped keep my spirits up as well. Furthermore, the tuition centre is really conducive, cool and well thought in the students interests which enticed me to attend physical classes rather than online ones. Not to forget, nearing the major A level exams, all the teachers in the tuition centre had put in a combined effort and gave last minute tips even if we didnt take the tuition for the subjects, which really made me feel as if I had a backbone of support from them. Once again, I would like to thank Mr Chia as well as Higher Nucleus for providing me with an unforgettable learning experience!

Mr Chia was a very patient teacher and always made sure the class was on track and didn’t let anyone fall behind. His teaching methods was incredibly easy to understand and it definitely helped in understanding harder concepts like vectors.

Mr Chia was very helpful and gave us a lot of practices. He would patiently answer all our queries and was very forthcoming when we needed help with consultations. If we required additional practice, he was also very happy to help provide more practice. Additionally, he also gave us additional tips and tricks to check our answers and use the calculator to efficiently utilise our time during the examination. His cheerful personality always made lessons enjoyable and he checked in on our wellbeing during stressful periods. Thank you Mr Chia!

Your lesson resources were extremely useful and I felt very comfortable clarifying all my doubts with you to close the gaps in my conceptual understanding. This has enabled me to achieve my goals for Math in the A levels.

I have always found JC maths tough and it did not help that my teacher was fast because my class was able to understand the concepts. Hence, I found myself struggling a lot throughout my JC year 1. However, it all changed after joining Mr Chia’s class. I was able to understand the concepts and Mr Chia also patiently cleared all my doubts. I improved from a S in prelims to A for A levels all thanks to Mr Chia!

Mathematics has always been my strong subject but ever since entering JC, i have been struggling with it and always getting borderline passes. This made me very frustrated because i felt that i understood the content but i couldn’t fully utilize the knowledge i have. However, Mr Chia takes the time and effort to analyze questions and clarifies our doubts. Through the endless drilling of a level and prelim questions, i was able to gain a better understanding of the requirements of the a level examinations and was able to better prepare myself because of the materials provided by Mr Chia. Mr Chia also always care about his students well-being and often send thoughtful wishes to us during tough periods like prelims and a levels.
