About the teacher:
I am your friendly and approachable Biology teacher who loves making learning a fun and interactive experience! Beyond just delivering content, I enjoy engaging my students with meaningful discussions, weaving in stories from my journey as an educator and as a volunteer with the Deaf community. My goal is to ignite genuine curiosity — helping students see Biology not just as a subject to study, but as a field to appreciate and enjoy.
With nearly 15 years of full-time teaching experience, I’ve learned that true academic growth doesn’t come from gimmicks or shortcuts, but from guided, rigorous thinking. I coach my students through deep discussions, in-depth analysis of Biological questions, and scaffolded learning grounded in the Zone of Proximal Development — meeting them where they are and bringing them further with clarity, support, and intellectual discipline.
Beyond the reductive label of “answering techniques,” my practice centres on assessment competencies, higher-order question analysis, and disciplined question deconstruction — a level of rigour the simplistic term fails to capture. Summaries, content mastery, structured question practice, and exam skills are my daily bread and butter — fundamentals I deliver consistently, not something that needs to be sensationalised.
I also feel incredibly lucky to learn just as much from each new group of Millennials and of course now, the Gen Z students (and soon the Gen alphas)! — they enrich my classroom with fresh perspectives, and I hope to offer them the same in return.
