Sam has been a full time tutor for more than 5 years . His areas of expertise are lower secondary Maths and Science, upper secondary Elementary Maths , Add Maths, pure Physics and Chemistry, Combined Science (Physics and Chemistry), A level H2 and IB Physics and A level H1 Maths.
Streams he covers include express, integrated programmes, normal, O and A levels, IGCSE, IB, SSST and NUS HIGH. His students are from schools such as HCI, HC international, NYJC, SAJC, PJJC, SJI, NUS High, MGS, FMSS, as well as neighbourhood schools. So he has experience tutoring students with different learning environment from highly competitive ones to those who need more guidance .
Sam inspires his students to learn and develop interest in the subjects and understand the concepts and acquire the skills needed to excel in the subjects rather than by rote memorisation. For physics , he highlights the importance of physics and its applications to society and industries so that students know why they are learning the subject and its usefulness.
His students’ grades improved from F9 to A1 or at least B3. Most importantly they all are able to continue on to the next phase of their education. Many of Sam’s students engage him as a tutor for their whole secondary and post secondary learning journey . Many of them are now in
universities doing the courses they planned for and for those who are more vocationally inclined they have completed polytechnic education and some continued on to university education.
